Library hosts Saint John's Bible exhibit

The Loyola/Notre Dame Library is honored to announce the installation of a new exhibit in the Ferguson Gallery. "The Saint John's Bible: Inspiration and Illumination" will run through Dec. 3. The exhibit is free and open to the public during library hours.

The St. John's Bible is a handwritten, hand-illuminated Bible. It was commissioned by the Saint John's Abbey and University in Collegeville, Minn., in 1998. Renowned calligrapher Donald Jackson coordinated teams of artists in Wales and scholars in Central Minnesota. Together, they created The Saint John's Bible, in which calligraphy and illumination bring the Word of God to life in an exquisite and inspiring blend of art and theology.
